Bacardí

BACARDÍ Limited is the largest privately held, family-owned spirits company in the world. As part of the realignment of the BACARDÍ Group's various brand websites, we designed the BACARDÍ rum site bringing it inline with the new brand visual identity (BVI).

THE PROBLEM

The existing website was dark and didn't reflect the brand's fresh new look and feel, nor did it encompass the Caribbean heritage or true essence of BACARDÍ.

THE SOLUTION

Examining the BVI introduced us to brand elements such as the typography, colours and brand graphics. The resulting website is vibrant, fun and introduces elements of the Caribbean heritage of Bacardi.

HOMEPAGE

Starting with the homepage, work began on how to best utilise the new brand look and feel. This was used in a combination of subtle and strong ways, such as the heading decorations and the image framing devices, respectively.

ANIMATIONS

Extra levels of detail and interest were added such as parallax scrolling and animation. This included fluttering leaves and a heritage lockup created using various assets, helping add to the fun and character of the page.

DESIGN: SABRINA GAYLE
ANIMATION: GIL PERES

PREVIOUS VERSIONS

Earlier versions followed the wireframes quite closely and utilised more black and brand pattern to create a premium feel. Later developments gave us the opportunity to be more creative in how we used the various assets and focused heavily on ways to hero the vast product range.
