Luxury digital experience to reflect a premium brand and increase engagement.

Aman Resorts is a luxury multinational hospitality brand, consisting of 33 resorts, hotels and residences, providing unique experiences in unimaginable locations across the globe.

There were multiple streams of work and project requirements, including a full site migration, reworking the Information Architecture (IA), and elevating the web design, to ultimately increase engagement and reflect the premium brand that is Aman. My main responsibility was producing wireframes and ensuring designs were mobile-friendly.

The approach

Prior to me joining the project, research was carried out to identify user needs and customer expectations of the Aman online experience. The findings from this informed the IA, content, designs, and identified potential features for future releases.

I used the relevant research findings to produce wireframes which helped scope the technical requirements, speed up page designs (using components designed by the Creative Director), and identify any additional components needed.

Mobile-friendly

The research showed a large segment of mobile users, therefore a quality mobile experience was a priority. The main area of focus for this was the navigation and the booking process.

Mobile navigation and its challenges

Aman.com is the global homepage, however research showed a significant proportion of direct traffic to individual resort pages—we had to ensure the mobile navigation catered for these customers.

The solution was to by-pass the global menu when on a Resort page, instead surfacing the Resort-specific navigation. Additional links were added to allow users to quickly access the global menu or brand home.

Simple interactions

All interactions are intentionally subtle, simple, and seamless, to allow the content to shine through and ensure a premium experience.

Be responsive

I worked closely in a supporting capacity with our engineering team to establish the responsive grid and clarify key component behaviours.

The outcome

The resulting website delivers the seamless, immersive digital experience expected from a luxury brand such as Aman. Due to the constantly evolving nature of this project, designs may differ from the live site.
